A Houston woman shot and wounded an assailant who tried reaching for her purse, law enforcement officials say. ABC 13 reports that the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on Creekbend at Fondren in southwest Houston.
According to law enforcement reports, Lachelle Hudgins parked her vehicle outside of her home when two men reached into her driver’s side window and grabbed her purse. Before they could take it and run away, Hughes instantly reached into her bag and grabbed her gun.
“I couldn’t do anything except scream. At one point, they told me to stop screaming, and he reached his hand inside my car,” Hudgins commented.
Officials claimed that she fired two rounds and the men ran off.
“It was all I had in my gun. I shot until I couldn’t shoot anymore,” Hudgins stated.
