An Orlando man was sentenced to 40 years of prison after he was found guilty of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old girl and possessing child pornography, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Carlos Rodriguez Fernandez, 48, had reportedly hidden a web camera in the victims’s bathroom and recorded sexually explicit videos of the child, according to court documents.
Agents with the FDLE’s Orlando Cybercrime Task Force began investigating when they found an IP address, used by Fernandez, sharing child pornography through a file-sharing program.
Agents found 160 images and six videos containing child pornography. They later found the webcam Fernandez used to record the 14-year-old girl hidden behind an electrical outlet plate across from the toilet.
