MOUNT SHASTA, Calif. — Mt. Shasta Police are working with Roseville police to investigate a series of homicides after a man walked into the police station and confessed to having a body in his car. According to Mt. Shasta police the man is not from Mount Shasta and it’s unclear what brought him to town.
Police in Roseville say they were contacted about a man claiming to have murdered multiple people. One body had been found in the suspect’s car in Mount Shasta and three more were found in an apartment in Roseville.
Police in Roseville and Mt. Shasta believe there is only one suspect in the case and there is no ongoing threat to the public. They believe the suspect and the victims knew each other.
“Identity has not been made for the suspect or any of the involved victims. At this time we believe the suspect and victims are known to each other. We’re in the process of getting the search warrant signed, as well as responding to the scene in Mt. Shasta,” said Capt. Josh Simon, of the Roseville P.D.
Because of the long distance between the apartment and where the suspect turned himself in, detectives are trying to figure out if he committed more crimes along the way. They’re hoping to have new information at their next press conference on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
