The eRosary

Vatican Launches “Smart Rosary,” Which Activates With Sign of the Cross & Tracks Health Data

This is really cool!

The Vatican recently launched and promoted an eRosary, a digital and wearable prayer aid activated by the Sign of the Cross. The official websitedescribes the eRosary as “an innovative way to help you pray for peace in the world.”

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network launched the smart device as part of the Extraordinary Missionary Month, “celebrating the 100th anniversary of Pope Benedict XV’s Apostolic Letter Maximum Illud.”

The water-resistant smart rosary bracelet, which also tracks health data, “consists of ten black agate and hematite beads and a neatly finished cross.”

It connects via bluetooth to both iOS and Android, syncing to the Click to Pray eRosary app. This app tracks the user’s rosary progress, offering several visual and audio meditation options: a standard rosary, contemplative rosary, or other thematic rosaries.

What do you think of the new eRosary?
