Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has botched the hotly-anticipated second debut of its chicken sandwich in Dallas-Fort Worth.
It’s tough — but not impossible — for North Texans to get their hands on this coveted fried-chicken sandwich. But only those who are lucky, patient or both have been able to buy one.
The result is disappointing, since Popeyes famously ran out of its scarce chicken sandwich when it originally debuted in August. Popeyes and its franchisees decided to “temporarily pause the sale of chicken sandwiches to stabilize our supply,” according to a statement. Company spokespeople wouldn’t speak by phone about specific steps taken. During the months of September and October, a Popeyes statement says franchises “worked to increase staffing.”
