Fine Tuning

At last we have evidence of the so called ‘Fine Tuning’ cited by creationists.  It comes in the form of new DNA research found here.  According to the study, the natural expected lifespan of vertebrate species can be determined by genetic analysis.

The most interesting number of course, is that of our own species.  As it turns out, if we were designed by a creator we were designed to live for a mere 38 years.  1.7 years less than chimpanzees, and 230 years less than bowhead whales.

Questions:

-What do religious scriptures have to say about our 38 year lifespan?  (specific references would be prophetic)

-What are the religious implications of denying the creator’s wishes, by unnaturally stretching our allotted time on earth, to double or even triple its intended length?

-Why not 35, 50, or 100 years?
