Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk claimed during the impeachment debate that Jesus had ‘more rights’ than Donald Trump.
On a day when many House Republicans complained about the process leading up to the impeachment of Donald Trump, one actually argued Jesus had a fairer process than Trump.
In a House floor speech on Wednesday, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) invoked Christmas and the crucifixion of Jesus.
“Before you take this historic vote today, one week before Christmas, I want you to keep this in mind,” he told his colleagues. “When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers. During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus, than Democrats have afforded this president in this process.”
