Because there’s just too much comedic value to ignore, Saturday Night Live took on the PBS NewsHour Politico debate featuring the 2020 Democratic presidential field, saving the best for last when Kate McKinnon appeared as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The skit came the night Eddie Murphy returned to host the program for the first time in 35 years and, much like in real life, included an appearance by President Trump to keep things interesting.
Strangely, even though Sen. Kamala Harris dropped out of the race, SNL made sure to include her character, played by Maya Rudolph, prominently in the debate skit.
Larry David returned to play Sen. Bernie Sanders, and McKinnon does double duty, also appearing as Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
