Unsafe levels of fecal bacteria in the water mean you shouldn’t swim near a handful of South Florida beaches this weekend, according to the health department.
The warning affects: the Deerfield Beach Pier, Sandoway Park in Delray Beach, Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach and DuBois Park in Jupiter.
The advisories will be in effect until at least late Tuesday afternoon.
In better news, fecal bacteria levels at the beach in Birch State Park had dropped enough to lift a swimming advisory that had been in effect since Tuesday. Health officials announced at 2 p.m. on Friday the water was safe for swimming there.
