God buys the slave…to set them free!

God pays the price…and sets us free. Jesus paid the debt…and made us free.

It’s a spiritual freedom, but a physical freedom too.

Leviticus 25:45

45 Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property. 46 And you may take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them as a possession; they shall be your permanent slaves. But regarding your brethren, the children of Israel, you shall not rule over one another with rigor.

If this is the so-called controversial scripture within the Bible…it’s only controversial because people totally MISS THE POINT!

 

The Hebrew were covenanted partners with God. What they did within His law, was God acting through them.

Deuteronomy 29:

10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lordyour God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,

11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:

12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:

….

 

God buys the world, the Gentiles out of the grips of the slave master…and sets them free. That’s Christ paying the price for sin John 3:16 and 8:36.

Physical and spiritual freedom.
