A pond didn’t prove to be such a great hiding spot for one Florida man.
A suspect wanted for selling drugs was arrested Wednesday, but not before attempting to escape in dramatic fashion, according to a police report from the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Christopher Booth, 36, was working at his job at a solar power plant in Wellborn on Wednesday when the deputies arrived, according to the report.
Booth ran from the plant to a nearby pond and jumped in.
His plan to evade authorities may have worked had Booth been a fish or Aquaman.
When Booth came up to the surface to take a breath, he was quickly spotted by law enforcement officers as well as the K9 unit.
“Now we can only assume that Mr. Booth has seen one too many action movies and thought he could hide [by] hiding under the water,” read the SCSO’s statement on Facebook. “He didn’t take into account he’s not a fish and had to come up for air and was quickly captured.”
