A or B – WHICH IS THE REAL JESUS STORY?

Story A with a question:   Mark 1:4, “John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.” Jesus was baptized by John in (the) Jordan for the remission of Jesus’ sins and immediately became one of John’s disciples (Mark 2:18) until John (Mark 1:14) was imprisoned.   Only after John’s imprisonment did Jesus begin his ministry.  Jesus held John, his Teacher, in such high esteem (Matthew 11:11, Luke 7:28), he said, “…Among them…born of women, there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist.” (A1)

(A1)   Doesn’t this verse mean John was greater than Jesus or his equal?

Story B with questions: Mark 1:4, “John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. (Verses 9-10) Jesus was baptized of John in (the) Jordan (B1)…and the Spirit like a dove descended upon him (Verse 11) And there came a voice from heaven (B2) saying,’Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’ (B3,B4). (Matthew 4:1, 8, 11) Then was Jesus led…into the wilderness (B5) to be tempted of the  devil (B6, B7).  And the devil taketh him up into an exceedingly high mountain and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world (B8) …the devil leaveth and…angels came and ministered unto him” (B9)

(B1)  Christians claim the Old Testament (OT) prophecies Jesus’ coming.  What OT verses  prophecy Jesus’ baptism?

(B2)  Who was this heavenly voice since Numbers 35:34 claims God lives among his children in Israel?

(B3)  Why would this voice be pleased Jesus was baptized? Is baptism ever mentioned in the OT?

(B4)  Since the Father and the Holy Spirit are supposedly two legs of the Trinity and both are Jesus’ Father (Matthew 1:17), shouldn’t verse 11 state, “Thou art OUR beloved son in whom WE ARE well pleased.”?

(B5) How could the Spirit lead Jesus into the wilderness since he (Mark 1:4) was already there?

(B6) Can you explain Satan’s evolution from the angelic figure in the OT who accuses wrongdoers before the heavenly court (per The Oxford Study Bible) to God’s archenemy in the New Testament?

(B7) What evidence do you have that either of these Satans exists?

(B8)  How is it possible to see all the kingdoms of the earth from atop a mountain unless the earth is flat?

(B9)  Why would angels minister to an omnipotent god?

Which story do you believe is true and why?
