The Guns of Hot Fuzz

So… the superlative cop movie, Hot Fuzz, is on Netflix, and I had a chance to watch it with the kid this Morning.

For those unfamiliar with Hot Fuzz, it’s an action-cop movie, written by lovers of action-cop movies, and has characters (police officers at that) who are familiar with the cliches of… action-cop movies.  (Point Break and Bad Boys II are their main references… but… the cliches are pretty universal)

Anyway, Act III of the movie involves the hero(es) and villain(s) proving that they have an absolute arsenal of fire power at their command, and proceed to have the village-destroying action-sequence to end village-destroying action-sequences.

So… my question is particularly aimed at those who know, use and understand guns (because I do not), and are familiar with them.

How realistic is the use of guns in this particular movie?

Or… if you need something broader… how realistic  is the use of guns in action-cop movies generally?

Are there any particularly glaring fantasy uses you are aware of that are not possible?

Are there any funny realistic uses you are aware of that you want to share?

(Memes welcome)
