Yes, Really: Texas Realtors Association To Drop the Term ‘Master Bedroom’ Over Slavery Ties

In Chapter 542 of “Everything Is Racist: A Leftist’s Guide,” we find a Texas real estate company is dropping the term “master bedroom” from its list of home-buying-related phrases, to replace it instead with the phrase “primary bedroom.”

Why? Well because “master” once referred to someone who owned slaves, and therefore, apparently, any application of it is henceforth to be deemed “racist.”

According to this, the Houston Association of Realtors announced the change after several of their members complained that the phrase might carry a negative connotation in today’s overly sensitive society.

“The MLS Advisory Group regularly reviews the terms and fields used in the MLS to make sure they are consistent with the current market environment,” HAR then told its members in a statement. “The updates to Primary Bedroom and Primary Bath were among nine requests for review that were submitted by members and considered at the most recent meetings.”

Then again, HAR must not be too awfully concerned with the suddenly racist term “master,” as they also added that realtors could continue using the word in marketing materials and when talking to customers. Which begs the question, if a term is acceptable for common use, why is that same word, used in the exact same manner, then being deemed “racist” in other situations? It would seem that a word is either racist, or it’s not.
