John Bolton’s controversial book hits No. 1 on USA TODAY best-sellers list

The memoir by the president’s former national security adviser sold more than 780,000 copies in its first week and landed the top spot on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling books list. The full list will be published Thursday.

While Bolton is not the only former Trump official to depict the president in a negative light, he was the highest-ranking.

In an exclusive print interview with USA TODAY’s Susan Page, Bolton admitted if he had been a senator during the president’s impeachment trial, he would have voted to convict. “I think I probably would have” voted to convict, Bolton said, “although, honestly, we still don’t know everything there is to know about Ukraine. A lot of conduct can be reprehensible without being impeachable.”
