The Womb of God

‘Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone.’

How can a dead man repent? How can the lifeless believe the Gospel? ‘It is the Spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing.’ The tomb of Christ is the womb of God. Life in Christ began where they laid his dead body, where God raised him to life. ‘Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.’ Even before you and I can believe, God must give his life: ‘the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.’

The Lord Jesus encouraged his disciples, ‘I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.’ Hey, I’m not addressing dead people here- if you’re a child of God you’re already alive in him, from the beginning. You only need wake up, arise as alive from the dead. ‘Marvel not that I say unto you, You must be born again.’ You are the will of God- he delights in you. ‘O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’

How can a dead man, ‘Repent, and believe the gospel?’
