R&I NV — Flyers from a white supremacist hate group defiling George Floyd, Jewish people and journalists were papered around a Litchfield Park-area neighborhood in late May, the weekend before the anniversary of Floyd’s death.
George Floyd was a Black man killed by Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin last year after Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes. Floyd’s death led to hundreds of Black Lives Matter protests in cities across the nation and reignited conversations over systemic racism in America.
David Miner, the Aryan Nations’ Arizona leader, told The Republic recent disputes and fighting in the Litchfield Elementary School District over critical race theory made the neighborhood worth targeting.
