Tom Hiddleston: Loki’s Bisexuality Was a ‘Small Step.’ There’s ‘Further to Go’

Tom Hiddleston called his character Loki’s coming out as bisexual a “small step” with much “further to go.”

As reported by Variety, the actor was asked in an interview with The Guardian, about his famous character’s sexuality and how his eponymous show on Disney+ plus handled it.

“I was just really honored to be asked,” Hiddleston says about getting his own show. “We all wanted to retain the integrity of the character — I wanted to make sure we didn’t lose the bits that people loved, while doing something new.”

He added, “I also hope Loki coming out as bisexual was meaningful to people who spotted it. It was a small step, and there’s further to go. But it was definitely important to all of us.”

Loki famously came out on the third episode of the series to Lady Lokie (Sophia Di Martino). The line that confirmed his bisexuality was brief, as he said he’s had a romantic past with “both princes and princesses.”

Bling and you would have missed it, which left many fans wishing the show added more to that part of the story.
