The FLDS
The FLDS is a polygamous cult, and is designated as a Hate Group, by the Southern Poverty Law Center; also labelling them “a white supremacist, homophobic, anti-government, totalitarian cult.” The abbreviation FLDS stands for Fundamentalist (Church of Jesus Christ of) Latter Day Saint, which is a polygamist offshoot (1912?) of the Mormon Church. Its HQ is now in Hildale, Utah. However, Short Creek, Arizona was the location for its first HQ, then it moved to YFZ (Yearning for Zion) Ranch near Eldorado, Texas. However, in 2006 the fugitive FLDS Prophet, Warren Steed Jeffs, was captured by the Highway Patrol on charges of being an accomplice to statutory rapes of minors. He had been listed on the FBI ten most wanted men, until his apprehension, and his imprisonment in 2007. In 2011, he was further charged with rape of two girls, a 12-year-old, and 14-year-old FLDS minors. He is now serving a life sentence plus 20 years. Warren S. Jeffs took over as prophet from his father, Rulon Jeffs (1909-2002) on his death. Rulon Jeffs had as many as 75 wives, and 65 children. His son Warren, on becoming Prophet of the cult, took some of his father’s wives, and before his imprisonment had as much as 78 wives, 24 of which were underaged.
In July 2004, Jeffs’ nephew, Brent Jeffs, filed a lawsuit alleging that Jeffs had anally raped him in the FLDS Church’s Salt Lake Valley compound in the late 1980s. Together with author Maia Szalavitz, Brent wrote the memoir Lost Boy, which recounts alleged incidents of child sexual abuse inflicted upon him by Jeffs, his brothers, and other family members, committed when Brent was aged 5 or 6. Christian hypocrisy, as it was okay for Jeffs to perform sex acts against boys, but hating what he termed Homosexuals.
In the same year 2004 Warren Jeffs expelled 20 men from the Short Creek FLDS community, including a brother, and the mayor. Not only that, but he also expelled all boys over the age of 13 years old, who found themselves living on the streets. Which left all the young girls in the FLDS compound at the mercy of the old men, whom Warren, like Moses, gave the young girls as brides to the old men. Girls as young as 12 years of age. On a TV news report/documentary, a group of senior FLDS women denied that any wrongdoings, and vehemently denied rapes of underage young girls. The spokesperson for the group, a midwife, was found in a later photo portraying a miner and her baby, whom the midwife had just delivered.
I found this article harrowing to say the least, especially when it came to children sexual abuse, and the disposing of young boys on the streets, as not wanting the surplus male gene pool.
