Siblings not entitled to any of deceased mom’s $3 million lottery win: Sister

A Vancouver Island woman being sued by two of her sisters over their deceased mother’s $3 million lottery winnings says her siblings are not entitled to any of the jackpot.

In April, Lisa Turnbull was named as a defendant by Frances Graham and Stephanie Kennery, who are seeking what they claim is their fair share of the money won by Frances Lloyd of Parksville.

Also named as defendants in the B.C. Supreme Court lawsuit are Turnbull’s husband, Stephen Turnbull, and Matthew Lawruk, a brother of the three siblings.

In July 2021, Lloyd won the Lotto 6/49 draw and then deposited the funds into a joint bank account she had set up years earlier with Turnbull so that her daughter could help with the payment of her regular bills and make incidental purchases for her.
