(Hat tip to Wombosi for getting me going on this in another conversation)
Ah the Koala, one of God’s… fuzzier… creatures.
Koalas have two thumbs on each hand, and, native to Western Australia, a diet that consists largely of the low-energy-yield and highly-toxic (to other creatures) Eucalyptus leaves.
Their brain only occupies about 61% of their cranial cavity, and weighs about 19 grams (normal weight for a Koala: 4-15 kilos). So… probably happy to wear their “Make Australia Great Again” hats.
Oh, and that low-energy diet means they sleep about 20 hours a day, and socialize for about 15 minutes, spending the rest of their day dedicated to… finding and eating leaves. Eucalyptus plants are indigenous to Australia… they don’t grow anywhere else. They have a top land speed of about 10 km/h. They don’t swim.
So… as I said… one of God’s fuzzier creatures.
Here’s my question:
Genesis says that Noah’s Ark came to rest on the Mountains of Ararat when the great deluge that covered all the earth, was finished. Ararat is a very specific place in Western Turkey. Very… very… far away from Western Australia. About 13,000 km.
What obstacles would the Koalas have faced in getting back to Australia from Noah’s Ark, and how do you propose they got there?
