Montauk hotspot Maison Close burns to the ground day before slated opening

A chic new Montauk restaurant-nightclub burned to the ground a day before its planned Memorial Day weekend opening, and investigators are probing what sparked the fire, authorities said Friday.

Maison Close Montauk — a French-inspired hotspot with a fashionable flagship venue in Soho —  was destroyed by a blaze Thursday night, a spokesman for the venue told The Post.

“We are sorry to announce that last night a fire claimed Maison Close Montauk last night,” the rep said Friday.

The fire comes after East Hampton police threatened to shut restaurants that clear the floor for patrons to dance as the summer season starts, irking many bars and restaurants.
