An all-ages Pride event in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday featured a children’s table with sexually explicit books and other pornographic content.
According to Florida Voice News, the Space Coast Pride event, which was marketed as “family-friendly,” had a kids’ picture book table that included the controversial children’s book titled “It’s Perfectly Normal,” which describes masturbation, shows images of sex positions, and other pornographic content.
“It’s Perfectly Normal” has been banned from multiple Florida county public schools, including Broward, Marion, and Orange. The LGBTQ community has claimed that the banning of these sexually explicit books for kids is anti-LGBTQ. Other banned books featured on the table included “I am Jazz” and “When Aidan Became a Brother.”
In addition, the children’s book table sold “READ BANNED BOOKS” t-shirts and asked for donations to their GoFundMe, according to the outlet.
