Former President Trump said Tuesday he’s reached an agreement with Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign over terms of the Sept. 10 presidential debate.
- Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform that they’ve agreed to the same rules as that of the June CNN debate with President Biden, in which the microphones were muted when the candidates were not speaking.
- The Harris campaign said in an emailed statement: “Both candidates have publicly made clear their willingness to debate with unmuted mics for the duration of the debate to fully allow for substantive exchanges between the candidates – but it appears Donald Trump is letting his handlers overrule him. Sad!”
