Pure Religion!
Paganism was not about embellishing the type of religion to glorify the deity being worshipped, as there existed multiple forms of Pagan worship throughout the world. Christians gave Pagans such names as heathens, the godless, polytheist, animist, idolaters, and unbelievers. However, the Jewish and Muslin faiths had—gentiles, and infidels, namely Christians. Moreover, the myriad of Pagan sects never wrote down their beliefs, or counterfeited their religion to try to authenticate their belief—their religion was pure. Which had been handed down through millennia, untill Christianity, and its fraudulent belief, saw fit to evangelise what they saw as their irreligious opponents. By sending missionaries to change a belief system that probably dates bach to when man first climbed down from the trees, and walked upright upon the savannah on two feet. We see conversion in Africa, and all the other continents, even Christendom, where religionist poach other Christian faiths.
Gonçalo da Silveira (1526-1561) was a Portuguese Jesuit priest and missionary is stated to be the first evangelist in Africa, who baptised the king of Mutapa or Munhumutapa in 1561. However, things did not go well after for the Jesuit de Silveria, as the king he christened had him strangled to death. However, the more serious African missionaries took place in the 19th-century, with the scot, Dr. David Livingstone (1813 – 1873) being the most famous one that comes to mind. Owing to the Welshman from my home town (Dinbych/Denbigh) who found him, John Rowlands, better known as Sir H.M. Stanley, GCB (Order of the Bath) (1841 – 1904). (A story I have written for others in the past). There were hundreds of traditional
African deities before the advent of Christian missionaries. Which thanks to the zealot missionaries destroyed age-old cultures and customs going back before the rise of the Egyptian, and Greek cultures combined. What brought my post on, was the remarks, and comments on Off-Topic for Sunday 27, Oct. 2024, by Ross Vaughan commenting to Fossil comment. Which Ross clearly states, as a Christian, that those who are ignorant of the name of Jesus, must be punished. Referring to Pagans!
Ross’s comment: “So did the Aztecs, Mayans, the priest thought because they’d never heard of Jesus they were ‘heathens’ ! So they must be ‘punished‘!” It shows what LITTLE, and SMALL minded Christians are, and in the case of Ross Vaughan, his comment is apt, as his Welsh surname means Little or Small. One also needs to remember that Christianity is 80% Pagan, with all adopted Christian festivals being of Pagan by origin.

Please note that the file picture is of the Welsh Druid Bards of today, however, Druidism was the animist religion of my ancient ancestors. Which were decimated by the Romans who gave Druids a murderous reputation, to give lawful credence to their slaughter of the Druids in BCE 60/1, done to break the Celtic-Gaul spirt. A decade later in BCE 70, the Romans destroyed the Jerusalem temple, and set Jerusalem ablaze, done also to break the Jews. The rest is religious history.
