As she sat on her ass and broke, wind!

Hi

“As she sat on her ass and broke, wind!”

Christians will vehemently deny any biblical wrongdoings by bible translators, who veer from the straight and narrow to alter biblical verses to suit the so-called morals of Christianity.  In doing so, they lose the word for word translation to keep the puritanical prigs among the holier-than-thou happy! There is nothing wrong with terms such as arse, fart, lovemaking, sodomy, etc. However, I will agree that the more prudish will be somewhat embarrassed, when the taboo terms are said in a common, vulgar English vernacular.  I am lucky as there are no swear words in Welsh, although the English import them over our border, but most of those that I have heard have been spoken in either English or pidgin English. The tourist that come to our seaside village have a fine repertoire of taboo English (spoken with an Irish Brogue, Scots English, Geordie, Brummie, and Scouse dialects of English, etc.) swear words.

It is thanks to JP bunny’s post, and Andy’s comment to me that inspired me to write this discussion. Which is more about biblical translators, and Bible publishers, who care more to changing word, that to translate word for word. There is not one verse or page within the Bible that has not been changed or altered. Most versions of the Bible are protected by copyright, that in itself tells people that the translation has veered from copy to copy from the oldest extant manuscripts. In a now redacted NEB version of Judges 1:14, there is a verse that reads: “As she sat on her ass and broke, wind.”  Today, those original words have been erased, and it is only thanks to historians that have saved copies of how the original ancient writers communicated. To them, it was natural for any person or animal on earth to fart or pass wind, medically if you didn’t you would die in severe pain. Yet, the prudish Christian, do not want to publish a natural human occurrence, they prefer to make their own words to suit their flawed scriptures, and have everyone believe the Bible to be the gospel truth!
What do you say, on part, or all oof the discussion?
