If this forum was Atheism instead of Religion what would we talk about?
What questions would we people of faith have for you? Would anyone have any? I have a hard time thinking of questions for you.
But here are a couple I’ve come across
-“Which argument for God do you find strongest, and why does it fail?” or put another way, “What’s the best reason to believe in God, and why does it not convince you?”
-“What would it take for you to believe in God?”
But those would be the obvious questions coming from theists. And they’ve probably been asked and avoided. (😉)
So putting those aside if you’d like, what questions do atheists ask themselves in regard to existence, man’s inhumanity to man, purpose, destiny, destination, suffering, calamity, evolution? What answers? Are you all in agreement?
What do atheists wonder about? Do they contradict each other? Do they rely on the teachings of any person or group? Do those teachings contradict? What do you have to disagree on other than process? You surely don’t disagree on content. Or do you?
I mean, do some atheists openly entertain the idea of God? How could they? Are they holding back only because they lack some kind of satisfactory evidence? Maybe they don’t care one way or the other? Are they indifferent or are they all on the same page?
I struggle to come up with questions for atheists as most atheist positions seem to be coming from a negative rather than anything positive. Rather said, they are ready and willing to tell you what they don’t agree with. What they don’t like. What they don’t believe.
I couldn’t even come up with an article that provoked any questions that were of interest to me, so I just picked a Christian commentary on it, and I actually noted some flaws in it. Maybe if you as an atheist see them as well, you’d like to correct them.
Atheists, why do you suppose I am so incurious about your worldview? What do you have to offer me a believer, that I’ve missed? Give me some positives about your position. I’ve certainly heard enough from you about the negatives of my own. Tell us what’s right with atheism.
I’m sorry about this OP. I’m sure that it is poorly done. But I honestly don’t have a lot of interest in atheism. However, I’d like to give atheists a forum to state what they have to offer not just what they don’t like about religion or don’t want anything to do. Make me interested.
