The Old and New Testaments. Two completely different books. One book…creation, punishment, wrathful God, rules. One book…morals, preaching, sacrifice, and some weird stuff at the end.
The Genesis story has the serpent as the one doing the tempting. Nothing about Satan. The NT calls him a dragon / serpent, therefore, it was Satan in the garden.
God refers to himself in the plural. Some will use that as proof Jesus and the Holy Spirit are in the OT, even though nothing to suggest anything other than the one God.
Would a Sherlock Holmes story use information from a Hercule Poirot story in order to make the facts fit?
Is it honest to misuse what is said in one book in order to make the claims of the other fit?
