“A now-adult alleged victim knocked out an 80-year-old convicted sex offender in court,” 8 News Now reports.
Richard Gross, 80, was in a Las Vegas courtroom for his sentencing earlier this month.
“He was initially charged with 26 felony counts related to the alleged sexual abuse of a child. He pleaded guilty through an Alford plea to one felony count of attempted lewdness with a child under the age of 14,” 8 News Now stated.
An ‘Alford plea’ is a “guilty plea in criminal court, whereby a defendant in a criminal case does not admit to the criminal act and asserts innocence, even if the evidence presented by the prosecution would be likely to persuade a judge or jury to find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” Wikipedia states.
The judge’s sentence resulted in probation for Gross and no jail time.
After the sentencing, the 29-year-old alleged victim punched Gross in the face, causing him to fall to the floor.
