Do you see…the Bible itself describes the individuals spiritual walk or journey? They have to draw out the old man…Egypt, go thru that wilderness, learn the hard way which should have only taken a week…learned that it’s NOT going to be on our own we do it (no religiousness), but BY partnership. God is that partner. Covenant.
So it’s God…putting out expectation we have to match, then God matches our expectations. Faith at work..reciprocal relationship.
It’s a process…good eradicating evil from within. God comes to dwell within.
Slavery was eradicated by faith! The civil war. No matter how bad one half deliberately and deceitfully twisted things..it couldn’t change the fact far more already eradicated slavery within themselves, their deep belief and faith. There was no possibility God endorsed forced slavery. God made ALL equal and ALL can be free in Him. John 8:36 & Deut 29.
That fact…that so many died defending a deep conviction ought to be enough for you. The belief and truth, God does NOT endorse slavery like that is there in the Bible.
Didn’t they die for their faith…
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you -Matt 5:44
Jude 1:22-23
