House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) really went over the line with some of her remarks on ABC News with George Stephanopoulos.
We hit on a lot of parts of the interview already, including her game playing, suggesting that she might still call John Bolton if the Senate did not have witnesses.
This, despite the fact that she wouldn’t allow Republican fact witnesses during the House proceedings. She had ample time to call witnesses but decided it was just to “urgent” to impeach Trump, then sit on the articles for three weeks. It was the House’s job to conduct an investigation, it’s not the Senate’s job to rectify all their failings until Democrats get what they want.
We reported how her language was far from “prayerful,” attacking President Donald Trump with words that sounded almost like a threat, that “one way or another” Trump would not be president next year, and he would be “impeached forever.” Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) pointed out how her comments completely exposed the impeachment as completely political.
