A previously-deported illegal alien who was re-arrested last week for attempting to illegally re-enter the United States was previously jailed for only six days after being convicted for raping a minor.
“U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a man convicted of a sexual offense on Friday evening,” according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release.

“The man was sentenced to six days confinement and five years’ [sic] probation for his conviction,” according to the press release. “Rosales is being held in federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.”
He was deported after serving his brief jail sentence.
The pattern of re-arresting previously deported aliens who have been convicted of or charged with child sex crimes is one that has become uniform among all Border Patrol sectors.
The El Centro Sector, which arrested Rosales, arrested more than 25 last year.
“In fiscal year 2020, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested and removed 28 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges after they entered the United States illegally,” the press release said.
