Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) have all announced that they going into self-quarantine after coming into contact with someone at CPAC 2020 who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Details: Cruz said in a statement he had a “brief conversation and a handshake” with the person at CPAC 2020, at which President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke. Gosar said he was “with the individual for an extended period of time, and we shook hands several times.”

Collins, who is running for Georgia’s Senate seat in 2020, was with Trump, HHS Secretary Alex Azar and others at the CDC in Atlanta on Friday. Gaetz was seen traveling with Trump on Air Force earlier on Monday.

Ben Goldey, spokesman for Rep. Paul Gosar, told Axios that he “can confirm that the individual and Congressman Gosar took several pictures together. We know this because we have several of the photos in our possession as well.”

  • He added that while can’t comment on specific members, “it is my understanding that he does have photos with other Members / VIP’s.”
