Texas governor restricts all travel to neighboring Louisiana

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Sunday expanded travel restrictions on Sunday to include all travel from the neighboring state of Louisiana amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

Abbott’s new travel restrictions announced Sunday mandates a 14-day quarantine for all travelers arriving in Texas from any location in Louisiana.

Abbott had previously required the mandatory self-quarantine for air travelers from the New York Tri-State Area as well as from the city of New Orleans.

Abbott expanded the mandatory self-quarantine order to include air travelers from new “hotspots” for the coronavirus, including the states of California, Louisiana and Washington, as well as the cities of Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Miami.
