Far-right conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh claimed earlier this week that medical experts currently surrounding President Donald Trump — including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases — were out to get the commander-in-chief because they were allies of Hillary Clinton.
Limbaugh said that Fauci and others were “Hillary Clinton sympathizers” on Tuesday’s program, and that they were trying to preserve the “status quo,” a position that ran against Trump’s style of doing things.
Limbaugh’s accusations, particularly toward Fauci, are laughable when one starts to apply the tenets of common sense. Fauci has been in his current position since 1984, and has served four Republican presidential administrations (across six terms) and two Democratic presidents (across four terms).
