Personal relationship with God is personal responsibility to God. He took upon himself (in Christ), my independence from him. Took responsibility for me while my back was turned to him. While I chose to do without God for the better part of life, he chose me. I responded. Now, talking to myself is talking to him is personal relationship. ‘Now is the day of salvation.’
The path of Earth circles the Sun, as does mine the Son of God. Too, I believe the people, places and things orbiting my life are precisely put there by him. He wants me to take responsibility, with him. ‘Emmanuel, God with us.’
Prayer begins by talking to myself, then gradually believing God is hearing it all. Now I dump on him my fears, frustrations and gripes because I realize he’s listening. I begin to listen for him through his words, then listen to him in my conscience, until it’s naturally back and forth. I begin to act upon stuff he puts in my path. ‘Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.’
