“ The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
Compare that to what a Christian believer says “ The theme of the Book of Hebrews is Christ is superior to Judaism.”
Can something be superior to perfect?
Also it seems like context only matters if it makes Christianity appear more right about the nature of salvation.
For instance, I have posted several verses in the past that show that God does not want Sacrifices. And yet some Christians will say “well you have to think about the entire book about Hosea…” but then we have believers who say the following “ He will give you the desires of your heart(Psalm 37:4). But then you mention that yes God will give your heart what you desire if, as it states in the previous verse, “ Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” IF YOU DO GOOD. I mention how God doesn’t say “if you believe correct things”. Then they quote 20 verses Paul writes about how works is bad.
Is it good that Christians slice and dice what the Jewish Bible and believe one person, Paul, over a consistent message over dozens of writers of the OT?
Can’t you make God say anything you want if you , like Paul does, use only less than half a percent of the OT in your made up theology?
Can God say his laws are perfect if we are to believe his laws bring us death and are a curse upon us according to Paul, doesn’t that make God evil?
Whether God wants commandments followed or claims to be believed, aren’t flawed humans still flawed humans?
Don’t we have the same self righteous behavior of self righteous followers of the law and the self righteous believers of the law?
Isn’t the problem with followers or believers the same problem we’ve always had? Followers of the law or believers of Paul are all just awful hypocritical people in the end any way?
