Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are calling on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign following a bombshell 165-page report released by state Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday, confirming the New York Democrat sexually harassed 11 women and retaliated against a former employee for speaking out.
The demands come after a months-long investigation into the governor’s conduct, with Cuomo denying any wrongdoing.
“The report can’t say anything different,” Cuomo told reporters in April, “because I didn’t do anything wrong.”
House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) went as far as calling for Cuomo to be arrested for his conduct.
“Cuomo must RESIGN. Cuomo must be ARRESTED. Cuomo staff must be PROSECUTED. THE GOVERNOR’S CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE IN NEW YORK MUST END IMMEDIATELY,” she tweeted.
Stefanik went on to press President Biden to call for his resignation.
