Man found dead in home with more than 100 snakes

Animal control reportedly said that a 14-foot Burmese python was the largest snake found in the home.

A Maryland man was found dead in his home on Wednesday with more than 100 venomous and non-venomous snakes in tanks throughout his home.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement they responded to a call from a neighbor who said they saw the man lying on the floor at his home in Pomfret. Responding officials forced entry into the home where they pronounced the unidentified 49-year-old dead at the scene.

Charles County Animal Control spokesperson Jennifer Harris told WUSA9 the team had “bagged and tagged” at least 125 snakes.
