‘Sabotage’: Railway bridge collapses, explosions heard, and fires break out in Russia

Unexplained explosions were heard, fires broke out, and a railway bridge collapsed near the Ukrainian border in Russia on Sunday and early Monday morning, in three separate incidents, according to Russian officials.

On the same day, in the neighboring region of Belgorod, the region’s governor reported that a fire had broken out at a Russian Ministry of Defense facility. The governor also claimed that seven homes had been damaged by the fire as well. An explosion was heard before the fire, according to media reports, and video reportedly of the fire shared on social media showed a large plume of smoke rising into the sky.…

The fire at the Belgorod facility was followed by more reports of explosions early Monday morning. Belgorod’s governor confirmed two loud explosions in the region but said that “there are no casualties or damage.”
