‘Star Wars’ Slams Homophobic Treatment of LGBTQ Characters

The franchise’s official Twitter responded to a critic complaining about the inclusion of queer characters.

It all started when the social media account posted in celebration of new comic book covers released for Pride Month.

When a user took issue with it, commenting: “Don’t make Star Wars political,” the franchise didn’t hold back, offering not one but two perfect clap-backs.

“Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good,” Evans told Reuters, adding, “There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs.
