Former Trump national security adviser tells Christians to donate to save freedom in America
However, former Trump national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn came out this week and suggested that Christians should redirect their tithes, offerings, and donations to a somewhat different “worthy cause.”
Appearing on the Mel K Podcast, Michael Flynn asked all Americans to tithe to America itself. Specifically, he was spruiking a crowd-sourcing fund that he has set up (and presumably manages), called the “Save Freedom in America” Fund.
Rather than laughing him off the airwaves, Mel K, who describes herself as a proud conservative devoted to God, family, and America, gave Flynn a license to promote the idea that Americans should give money to champion the cause of American conservatism. Here’s a clip of the offending section of the interview that appeared on Twitter:
Michael Flynn, who has angered christian leaders before with strange religious statements, has a new ‘Save America Fund,’ where he says sending him money “is like tithing .. What I’m asking Americans to do is give a tithing to America .. like you give it to your church.” pic.twitter.com/tcoK4BTi81
