America is losing its head over diversity. “Sometimes,” said economist Thomas Sowell, “it seems as if ‘diversity’ is going to replace ‘the’ as the most often used word in the English language.” The dictionary definition of diversity is the political and social policy of encouraging tolerance for people of differing backgrounds. Unfortunately, the Left has distorted its meaning. To progressives, diversity means that we must give special privileges to certain protected classes of people, including “people of color” and definitely not whites.
Special privileges to minorities is the Left’s way of marginalizing white people. Nobody likes white people anymore. It’s not just people of color—even white people dislike white people. “Being white carries so much of a social stigma that it results in job discrimination and more,” writes Robert Spencer in PJMedia. “Today, to be white is to be evil.” A racial inquisition against white people is underway and the white population seems to be all for it.
White people are being demonized and marginalized without mercy. Dr. Donald Moss, a psychoanalyst who teaches at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, calls whiteness a “malignant, parasitic-like condition to which white people have a particular sensibility.” Can you imagine the uproar that would result if Dr. Moss said the same thing about blackness? African-Americans would be marching in the streets. Strange as it may seem, white people, support it.
New York Times editorial board member Sarah Jeong tweeted “cancel white people” and “dumbass f—king white people.” Psychiatrist Aruna Khilanani told an audience at Yale School of Medicine that she has fantasies of killing white people. “Diversity in today’s America,” said Scott Greer in No Campus for White Men, “simply means having fewer whites around.” By implying intolerance of Caucasians, diversity is discriminatory and exclusionary.
Diversity is destroying the critical American value known as meritocracy. Evidence of the trend is everywhere. Colleges and universities are using a quota system for admission that penalizes white students. President Biden appointed a Supreme Court justice on the basis of her race and sex, not her qualifications. White candidates were excluded from consideration solely because of their race. United Airlines has announced that 50 percent of all new pilots will be chosen from among minorities and women. If white men are more qualified, too bad. From 2024 on, eligibility for an Academy Award will be based on race and gender quotas, with an implied emphasis on limiting the participation of whites.
