A report from pro-life investigative journalists with the Center for Medical Progress indicates that an organization that harvests human organs and tissues for the University of Pittsburgh sends vehicles around to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in the city.
Video footage and still photographs show a vehicle operated by the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) working at a Pittsburgh Planned Parenthood facility. CORE is a tissue and organ procurer that contracts with the University of Pittsburgh to supply research material.

The reporting indicates that the images and video of the CORE vehicle were obtained by members of the pro-life group 40 Days for Life. The vehicle parked in the abortion clinic’s “bubble zone” entrance area and the reported evidence shows a man bringing what appear to be “specimen bags from the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic and storing them in a cooler inside the CORE vehicle.”
The university has been implicated in previous reporting on the use of tissues and organs obtained from aborted babies to conduct medical experiments. One incident involved a taxpayer-funded study made possible by grants from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases headed by Anthony Fauci.
That study involved experimental grafting of aborted baby skin tissue on rats and mice. It was titled “Development of humanized mouse and rat models with full-thickness human skin and autologous immune cells.”
The school denied allegations it had used aborted baby tissue under oath before the Pennsylvania state legislature last year. The university medical center’s Hillman Cancer Center deputy director of research Dr. Jeremy Rich said that “CORE does not obtain tissue from Planned Parenthood or any other source other than UPMC facilities.”
