Several left-wing media outlets falsely reported that conservative commentator Michael Knowles called for transgender people to be “eradicated” during his CPAC speech.
Knowles had delivered a speech Friday calling for the ideological underpinnings of transgenderism to be eradicated.
“If it is false, then for the good of society, and especially for the good of the poor people who have fallen prey to this confusion, transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely. The whole preposterous ideology at every level,” Knowles said.
He is of course completely right about this. Trangenderism as a concept and an ideology is false, poisonous, and destructive to both the individual and society. It needs to be destroyed entirely. The fight to save children from this lunacy is but one phase in the overall war. https://t.co/vn2YpIjiLW

Shortly after, The Daily Beast, HuffPo, and Rolling Stone published false headlines claiming Knowles essentially called for transgender genocide:
- The Daily Beast headline: “Michael Knowles Says Transgender Community Must Be ‘Eradicated’ At CPAC“
- HuffPo headline: “At CPAC A Call For Trans People To Be ‘Eradicated’ Gets Big Cheers“
- Rolling Stone headline: “CPAC Speaker Calls For Transgender People To Be “Eradicated“
The phony narrative was also amplified by the likes of Democrat state senator Scott Weiner (Calif.).
“‘Transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely.’ These words were in a speech by a major right wing figure at a national conservative conference. It’s a straight up call for genocide. That’s what this fight is about. They want us gone,” Weiner tweeted.
I'm pleased to see that @thedailybeast's lawyers scrambled to make them stealth-edit their defamatory headline about me. Unfortunately, this tweak does not constitute a retraction of the article, which remains libelous. https://t.co/TLkCne3sp2 pic.twitter.com/kvL61u11eZ
