To the dismay of many, children as young as six years old were seen handling guns at the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) annual convention in Indianapolis.
Pictures from the exhibit showed young children checking, testing, and playing with guns as their parents watched. Despite the increasing number of firearm-related deaths, the event was marketed as family-friendly.
The weapon association’s exhibit is facing severe criticism as the graphic photos of firearm-related deaths in the United States continue to rise.
In response to the images, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, tweeted, “We must defeat these extremists,” referring to the Republicans, “For The Children.”
