Per Epoch Times Washington Correspondent Jackson Richman, a Fox spokesperson has indicated that no decision has yet been made regarding the primetime line-up. RedState will continue to follow the story and provide further updates as they become available.
The Drudge Report is now saying that Sean Hannity will be taking over Carlson’s 8 p.m. slot, while Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters will each get their shows in the two remaining primetime hours.
“Fox News is preparing to announce an ambitious new schedule,” the report said, “a schedule where every hour of primetime will change.”
“It’s our boldest and most fearless line-up ever,” a source told the site.
Watters, who had been rumored as a top candidate to replace Carlson, is currently a co-host on the network’s current highest-rated show, “The Five” at 5 p.m. Gutfeld is also a co-host on the show in addition to his own highly-rated late-night comedy show on the network at 11 p.m., “Gutfeld!”
I’m not sure if that qualifies as “boldest and most fearless ever” when they don’t have Carlson there and when that action can loom over the other host’s heads wondering if they’re next. Also, I’m not sure that it’s going to convince people to come back if they’re disturbed about what happened to Tucker.
The other thing that is not clear in the report is what happened to The Ingraham Angle in all this — where is she going? And that’s likely to tick off her viewers.
We will keep you updated as we learn more and update with new reports.
