Chicago-area high school has segregated lunch space for LGBTQIA+ students

“Hey gay kids, go sit over there at that rainbow table by yourselves, it’s for your own good!”

That, I assume, is what Chicago area queer “educator” Quinton Clemons shouts to his LGBTQIA+ students every Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime.

Slightly joking, but not really…

Oh, segregation. Isn’t it just wonderful?

Brings me back to a more peaceful time in our country’s history.

LGBTQIA+ educators established “Qrunch,” a lunchtime opportunity for students to connect and eat together. Qrunch was held each Tuesday and Thursday during lunch 1 and 2. It was hosted by Quinton Clemons and supported by additional staff members as needs arose throughout the school year. “The Cook Out,” a lunch space for Black and Brown students in the LGBTQIA+ community, was hosted every Monday.

That’s, like, double segregation right there!

AWESOME!!!

So much progress happening down there in Chicagoland!
