Albany man arrested twice in three hours for separate assaults, minor also charged with larceny

An Albany man was arrested twice within a span of three hours Thursday, charged with causing injuries to two separate men.

At around 2:15 p.m., officers responded to Paesan’s Pizza on Ontario Street for reports of an assault. Arriving officers located a 60-year-old man with injuries to his face and head. Officers also quickly located the suspect, Taezi Washington, 22, near the scene and placed him into custody.

The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the victim was sitting at a table inside the restaurant when Washington and another male approached him. According to police, both suspects then proceeded to punch the victim in his face and head with their fists. The victim was struck again when he attempted to call 911 from the restaurant’s phone.
