SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (TND) — Nineteen men were arrested and nearly 100 roosters were rescued after authorities in Texas said deputies uncovered a “large-scale cockfighting arena.”
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said at least seven of the suspects were in the U.S. illegally.
The following suspects are facing these charges:
- Jonathan A. Briceno-Garcia — charged with participating in a cockfight, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana
- Alejandro Calztoncinth — charged with attending a cockfight
- Luis Alberto Castillo-Adame — charged with attending a cockfight
- Armando Delgado — charged with attending a cockfight with a previous conviction
- Elias Gallegos — charged with attending a cockfight
- Ruben Garcia-Meza — charged with attending a cockfight
- Daniel Gonzalez — charged with attending a cockfight
- Edgar Gutierrez — charged with attending a cockfight
- Alberto Martinez — charged with attending a cockfight
- Alejandro Mendoza — charged with attending a cockfight
- Emigdio Miranda-Perez — participating in a cockfight
- Alejandro Morales — charged with attending a cockfight
- Adrian Moreno — charged with attending a cockfight
- Jose Ortuno-Ortega — charged with attending a cockfight
- Michael Lakeith Potts — charged with attending a cockfight
- Armando Puga-Medrano — charged with attending a cockfight
- Ramon Robles-Mendez — charged with attending a cockfight
- Narciso Rios-Martinez — charged with attending a cockfight
- Gerardo Santoyo — charged with attending a cockfight
